Utilities is about 15-18% of your revenue. Higher revenue means higher electricity and water consumption. Rental depends on the area your shop is located. Beware rental is a fixed cost.
Self-established brand. You can opt for either franchise or non-franchise from the supplier. You can join the supplier's franchise program. No profit sharing. There is royalty fees to be paid (around 10% of revenue). Benefits of franchise is that you can use their brand name, and they have a customer care line to handle your customers' issues. If you opt for non-franchise, you have to answer all calls from customers. It depends how you value this. If the shop is near your house, then you are more convenient to handle your customers issues, while at the same time learn more about your customers' preference and machine matters.
3 你开店至今的客流量大概介于多少呢?
Average about 50 customers per day. Weekends will be more. Rainy days will also have more customers.
4 请问你的洗衣中心是开24小时的吗?
Yes. You will notice some customers prefer to come during midnight or off peak hours to avoid the crowds.
5 请问机器如果出现故障的话,一般上需要多久才能解决呢?
Machines come with warranty. I have to advise you that good things do not come cheap. My machines are imported from Europe and US. These machines are industrial graded and can stand rough usage without problems. Usually established supplier have technicians to solve your issues at the quickest time possible.
I have heard of other lower range brands with high frequency of breakdowns and lack of spare parts. Bear in mind the more frequent and longer your machines breakdown, the greater impact it will bring to your revenue and shop reputation.
Machine RM235k (7 washers, 4 dryers, 1 coin exchange/detergent vending machine).
Renovation RM92k (including new floor tiles, folding tables, benches).
Shop signboards and wallpapers RM15k.
Business license and applications RM1k.
All-in abut RM350k.
Please take note there are few types of machines in the market. Mine is a bit expensive but I think worth the price paid because less maintenance compared with other brands in the market. My shop is opened for more than 6 months now. The machines have got no major problems at all, very reliable and tough.
My washing machines do not provide free detergent as this will be at the business owner's own costs, and the detergent pumping machines need maintenance as well. So I save money on this aspect. My coins exchange machine is also a detergent vending machine. Customers who do not bring their detergent can buy from the machine. Detergent can be purchased from suppliers and sold to customers at a little profits.
I also help people set up self-service laundries. If you are interested please let me know. I can share more information with you after all we are in the same business.
