　　8月4日在马英九率台湾青年访问泰国，在泰国出席一个活动被问及统一问题时，马英九说一定要“和平民主统一”，而不是只谈“和平统一”。他认为“没有民主的统一没有意义”。马英九说，只有大陆“民主”了才能谈统一。“台湾已是一个民主国家，大陆还在努力当中，大陆也应该采取民主的价值，把自己的国家建设成一个民主的国家”。“我虽然我是华人，虽然我是中华民族的子孙，但我是反共的啊，我完全不赞成共产党”。“我们反共是一回事，但是我们爱好中华文化，愿意做华人子孙是另一回事”。也就是被美国殖民思想长期洗脑的马英九还在幻想要用美式民主方式来统一大陆，也就是仍然还在坚持过去蒋介石的“三民主义”统一中国那一套！

　　此前在7月12日，马英九接受马来西亚星洲日报采访时说，表示接受和平统一，但不接受武力统一。马英九说：“让双方（两岸）能够朝和平方向发展，大陆当然是要搞统一，但是如果手段不能和平，过程不能民主的话，台湾民众不会接受”。“我觉得要强调一下，就是（统一）过程要和平，方法要民主。这点非常重要”。

　　而这次他表达得就非常明确了。所谓“民主”就是台湾或美国式的“民主”，即以“反共”为前提的资产阶级政治制度。并且明确宣称“台湾已是一个民主国家”，这是公开“台独”分裂口号，即宣布台湾已经是独立国家！而所谓”大陆还在努力当中“，意为大陆正在和平演变，只有变成一个抛弃共产党领导的资产阶级“民主国家”，才有资格与台湾这个“民主国家”谈两岸（即两国）的“和平统一”问题。

　　可见，即使大陆如今已发展得这么强大，两岸实力对比已那么悬殊，而且对马英九一再予以厚待、表达诚意，可是马英九在骨子里仍然顽固坚持反共反社会主义新中国的立场，坚决维护偏安一隅的“台独”分裂中国现状，并且还在用美式霸权殖民下的所谓“民主”制度瓦解和反攻大陆的幻想，作为反对和拒绝中国和平统一的理由！
