A pedestrian, who was hit by a car bearing a Malaysia licence plate while crossing a road in Jurong West, has died two days after the incident.

The accident occurred on March 21.

The 47-year-old pedestrian was conscious when taken to National University Hospital.
The police said he subsequently died on Thursday.

The 41-year-old driver is assisting with investigations.

A video of the incident was posted online.

A white Toyota Vellfire was making a right turn at a traffic junction into Jurong West Street 65.

A man crossing from the left side of the road appeared to have been unaware of the approaching multi-purpose vehicle.

The driver did not stop and the pedestrian was hit.

The man appeared to have been writhing in pain on the road after being hit.

The driver exited the car to check on him.

The police and Singapore Civil Defence Force said they were alerted to the accident at about 9.20am.
