星期一回来，
很想赶快继续我的Gen2之旅。
可是却被逼跑去当公司最贵的劳工！

星期二回来继续我的工作了！

首先先设定我的Group还有User。
这个之前已经策划好了。
一切都进行的蛮顺利的。
然后到了午后就开始装我的Samba了。

问题来啦！
问题终于来啦！

我就用 emerge -pv samba 来查询samba的相依性。
然后就有以下的东西出现。
没有问题

......
[ebuild   N   ] net-fs/samba-2.2.8a.tar.bz2  -acl +cups -doc -examples -kerberos -ldap -libclamav +mysql* -oav -pam -postgres +python -quotas +readline (-selinux) -winbind -xml +xml2 0 kB

然后我就emerge samba
很无奈的在download这个net-fs/samba-2.2.8a.tar.bz2 file的时候
就是找不到。
试过很多Server Proxy都没有。
所以就安装不成功。

没有任何的头绪。

不知道在那么做。
过后，想起刚才的说明
emerge sync好像是用来更新什么 tree list的
就试一试。

跑跑跑。。。
跑得很久。

等不及了。
唯有CTRL－C
然后再试一试
emerge samba。
果然，samba的version换了。
然后就emerge samba。
要下载得很慢。
最快才去到4－5kbps。
我在用着1Mbps Streamyx可是为什么会酱？

是时候放工了。
没有办法就放着让它自己跑吧！
明早再回来看。

你有set DNS吗？？
在/etc/resolv.conf那边
nameserver DNS_IP

另外看到你的帖，说汉化方面的
emerge hkscs-ming就能有华文了，我很少再linux装chinese input其他的你慢慢研究~

你可以用malaysia的gentoo mirror会比较快
在/etc/make.conf里加入
GENTOO_MIRRORS="URL"
http://mymirror.asiaosc.org/gentoo/是mimos的server...
但是有时在那边emerge的package会有问题的，就好像我上次emerge gaim时compile有问题
试了很久都不行，想应该是source的问题吧，然后从/usr/portage/distfiles里delete掉download下来得gaim  package后再用其他的server来emerge,就没问题...

你有时间能不能写关于set server的tutorial ??
我没set呢....

DNS过后我设定了。

不知道算不算汉化。
只是想说设定我的Xwindows可以Support UTF8。
中文输入。SCIM不错可以支持很多的输入了。
GCIN好像也是。不过还没有试过。还在研究。

我已经设定了。
现在我的emerge遇到了大问题！

首先是我已经装好了samba可是在/etc/init.d/里面找不到samba整个文件。

1. gserver root# /etc/init.d/samba start
   
2. -bash: /etc/init.d/smbd: No such file or directory

所以就想说用equery来查查看是什么问题。
可是当我用equery的时候，发现我还没有装gentoolkit
所以就要去emerge它。

可是就出现了这个

1. > Configuring environment...

所以就跑去 emerge sync。
一开始 rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage/
很慢。
在
/etc/make.conf
放了这个
taiwan的

1. SYNC="rsync://ftp.isu.edu.tw/gentoo-portage"
   
2. GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.isu.edu.tw/pub/Linux/Gentoo"

过后就很快。

做完 emerge sync然后在做emerge －uDav world

过后就出现以下的

然后就emerge gentoolkit出现这个

1. gserver root # rm /etc/make.profile
   
2. gserver root # ln -s ../usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/2005.0/ make.profile
   
3. gserver root # emerge sync
   
4. gserver root # emerge -uDav world

2. emerge sync
   
3. emerge metadata

那你的KERNEL应该是bzImage阿。。。

#/boot/grub/grub.conf 应该是酱才对阿..

boot到grub后按'e'然后把 kernel /boot/kernel-2.6.14-r2 root=/dev/hda3 改成 kernel /boot/bzImage root=/dev/hda3

试过了。
可是还是不行。
我想事driver的问题？
要在make menuconfig？

会不会是 framebuffer support的问题呢？
可是我已经untick了哦！

當我再compile時
make dep && make bzImage modules modules_install
出現了以下的Error

可是另一个问题有来了！
那就是Kernel panic

4. XFS: bad magic number

不太清楚，好像是什么方便developer的问题。觉得gentoo好像失去了让它在这么多distro里面突出的特点。
