不必再取道吉隆坡 古晋香港4.26首航

（本报古晋20日讯）古晋会是香港航空在马来西亚的第一个终站，预料将于4月26日首航从香港直飞古晋。
砂旅游部长拿督阿玛阿邦佐哈里表示，州政府对此新航线的落实感到开心，而砂州从4月起也毋需再从吉隆坡转站飞往香港了。
他说，除了吉隆坡外，许多来自砂州的乘客以往都会使用新加坡为重要枢纽。
“这香港直飞古晋的航线，也提升了香港与古晋之间的衔接，同时也填补了砂州缺乏航班衔接的课题。”
“一旦推行后，我们将有两个重要的枢纽，即香港及新加坡。”
“那些来自欧洲国家的游客，如要飞来这里出席大会，可选择香港往返古晋的航线了。”
他是今日出席见证砂拉越旅游局与香港航空在香港国际机场举行的合作签署仪式后，向记者这么表示。
砂11月办国际大会
他透露，砂州也将于今年11月举办2016年亚洲国际大会。
他说，一旦4月之后该直飞航班的反应良好，香港航空也会对其班次做出调整。
他表示，该航空目前拥有27架飞机，并会在今年增购另外11架的飞机。
他指出，为了维持此航线，砂旅游局也会支持香港航空的旅游配套及市场宣传与开拓。
砂旅游局全力支持
他强调，由于生态旅游在全球旅游市场开始炽热，因此砂州也会推出各项的旅游产品予香港及其他地区的游客。
“香港航空有做了一些的功课，而他们也看到了我们的国家公园。这对古晋来说是一个很大的潜能。”
“我对香港航空有很大的期望。此外，我也会与犀鸟航空洽谈，以提供包机服务予来自香港的游客，让他们前往姆鲁参观。”
“我们有着600万年的洞穴，这都是一个景点。不过我们需要包机服务。”
香港直飞古晋，每周将有两趟的班次。

HONG KONG: Kuching is the first destination in Malaysia for Hong Kong Airlines that is expected to launch the inaugural Hong Kong-Kuching direct route come April 26.
Minister of Tourism Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg said the state government was pleased that the new route is finally realised as Sarawak would not have to rely on Kuala Lumpur as a hub after April.
Besides Kuala Lumpur, he said most travellers from Sarawak would also use Singapore as an important hub.
“This direct flight from Hong Kong to Kuching will increase connectivity between Hong Kong and Kuching. It is also to address a lack of connectivity issue in Sarawak.
“Once launched, we will have two very important hubs — Hong Kong and Singapore.
“Tourists or those attending conventions from the United States and Europe can fly to Hong Kong and from there to Kuching. This can be unique to us,” he told reporters after witnessing the signing of agreement between Sarawak Tourism Board and Hong Kong Airlines at the latter’s headquarters near Hong Kong International Airport here yesterday.
The agreement for Hong Kong Airlines to operate the Hong Kong-Kuching direct route was signed by STB chief executive officer Datu Ik Pahon Joyik and Hong Kong Airlines Assistant Director of Commercial Michael Burke.
Also present were assistant ministers of tourism Datuk Talib Zulpilip and Datuk Gramong Juna, Malaysia Airports Holding Bhd general manager Mohamed Sallauddin Mohamed Shah and Tourism Malaysia, Hong Kong director Norshamsida Abdul Rahman.
According to Abang Johari, Sarawak is expected to host the International Congress and Convention Asia 2016 in November.
He said Hong Kong Airlines would review the frequency of the direct flight if the response is good.
He pointed out that the airline, which currently has 27 aircraft, would see an increase of 11 more aircraft this year.
To sustain the route, Abang Johari said STB would support Hong Kong Airlines in terms of tourism packages as well as market promotion and expansion.
Asserting that eco-tourism will emerge as the key trend of global tourism industry, he said Sarawak has various products to offer to tourists from Hong Kong and other parts of the world.
“Hong Kong Airlines has done their research and they have seen our national parks. They see the potential of Kuching.
“I place high hope on Hong Kong Airlines. Besides, I will also discuss with Hornbill Skyways to provide chartered flights for those coming in from Hong Kong to bring them to Mulu.
“Our six million years old caves are an attraction. And we just need chartered flights.”
Hong Kong Airlines will fly passengers to Kuching and vice versa twice a week.
