MCA feels there is no necessity to respond to a former deputy minister’s statement that the Chinese community in Kuala Kedah had burned pages of the Quran.
Its Religious Harmony Bureau chairman Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker told The Rakyat Post there was no need to respond to “cock-fighting posturing”.
He said unlike DAP, MCA did not have to go all out to capitalise on political issues.
The party, Ti said, had more immediate issues and problems to deal with rather than picking up on isolated incidents or individual statements.
“What DAP is doing is inflating it into a national issue which is a highly irresponsible act.”
He was responding to Datuk Dr Mashitah Ibrahim’s claim made at the Umno general assembly where she also urge .....
