SINGAPORE: A 26-year-old Indonesian man was found dead at The Arcade in Collyer Quay on Friday afternoon.
Police said they were alerted about the incident at 4.34pm.
The man, who was lying motionless, was pronounced dead by paramedics at 5.03pm.
A money changer at The Arcade, Mr Mohd Ali, told MediaCorp that he heard that the victim's body was found at the staircase of the building.
Police have classified the case as unnatural death.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told MediaCorp that the victim had multiple stab wounds on the chest.
Mr Mohd Ali said the deceased, whom he knew as Mr Suhardi Tan, was a regular client of the money changers in the area.
He believes the man ran a business in Batam and would change amounts ranging from S$20,000 to S$100,000.
Another money changer said he saw stab wounds on the victim.
