昨晚我流了很多汗。。。

汗之一：妈妈回到家，就赞不绝口的描述这所医院的电疗器材先进，“以前同善医院的吼… 现在这所医院的吼… ”“哇！那么先进难怪会贵一点… ”“哇！他们的脸膜暖暖的… 哇！他们的床透明的… 哇！不用排队，十五分钟就好了… ”“哇！那个机器和电视上的一样的… ”
汗。。。从乳癌到肠癌再来脑癌，他就好像年中度假那样，总是每次都有新东西让他惊讶。。。

汗之二：我回家时，妈妈就开始讲他的脑癌初体验故事。婶婶来了，妈妈就又讲他的脑癌初体验故事。阿姨来了，妈妈又再讲他的脑癌初体验故事。
汗。。。他好像在推销医院。。。

还有更汗的，想不起了。。。

平旦：谢谢你，生离死别难逃，时辰到也难苟且，妈妈的心情也回复了。。。
新力：不介意，其实妈妈也不是贪生的人，他的遗憾是留下爸爸孤零零，爸爸和孩子三个大男人不会照顾自己；我的遗憾是我还没能给妈妈享福。。。

Broccoli or broccoli sprout
- there's a new research paper out in 2004, by university of John Hopkins(very famous in medical research)
- broccoli, food science major, minor nutrition; there's sulforaphane glucosinolate in broccoli
- it helps to induce phase 1 detoxification enzymes in body
- research by Dr Talalay from John Hopkins University, rats fed with sulforaphane glucosinolate number of rats developed tumors reduced by as much as 60%, number of tumors in each animals was reduced by 80%, size of tumors that did develop reduced by 75%
- quote: 'this study suggests that in addition to the activation of detoxifying enzymes, induction of apoptosis cell death is also involved in the sulforaphane associated chemoprevention of cancer(the enzyme is call phase 2 enzyme).
- most plants do not contain this sulforaphane glucosinolate, only broccoli contain it in significant amount
- quote: scientists have been searching for foods that affect one part of this system (they mean the enzyme system) and not another. But over and over again, food components that were shown to increase phase 2 activity (good) also increase phase 1 activity (bad). Those that inhibited potentially dangerous phase 1 activity also inhibited cancer fighting phase 2 activity.
- quote: but new science is showing that certain food like broccoli sprout (explain later why not broccoli), contain compounds that are able to selectively boost only the phase 2 enzymes these compounds, such as sulforaphane, are called monofunctional inducers. - quote: young plants 3 day old sprouts yielded much more concentrated enzyme induced activity. Finding from this research demonstrated that certain varieties of 3 day old broccoli sprouts contained between 20 to 50 times the concentration of SGS (sulforaphane glucosinolate) as the mature, cooked vegetables. The SGS concentration depend on the variety of broccoli and the maturity.
- heat can destroy SGS! So, eat it raw! Suggest soak the broccoli in high concentrated salt water ( inactivate the microbes), then bath in clean clear water and blend into juice or mildly heat it. Do not cook, and must be blended so that the SGS can be realeased from bound form. (personal suggestion)

Selenium

- quote: the glutathione is antioxidant activity is among body's most important internal protective system because glutathione participates directly in the destruction of reactive oxygen compounds… and supports the normal active functioning of immune system… which requires selenium as a catalyst.
- the glutathione is body natural protective compounds, and to function properly, it needs selenium.
- Selenium and cancer: Observational studies indicate that death from cancer, including lung, colorectal, and prostate cancers, is lower among people with higher blood levels or intake of selenium [34-40]. In addition, the incidence of nonmelanoma skin cancer is significantly higher in areas of the United States with low soil selenium content [37].
- only selenium is the catalyst for glutathione.

Potato juice (no research on this, yet)
- my grandma is now 92yo, last year she fall n got a bit stroke, she is ok but just move very slow and now she is drinking pure potato juice, and so my mom. WHY? Because she went to some kind of seminar, people who got illness like cancer got better (even not cure) after drinking it!
- potato is full of starch, and it's high in vitamin C, higher than many other fruits.
