Second HSBB network only possible later on

PUTRAJAYA: There is no room for a second high speed broadband (HSBB) network infrastructure now that the Government has inked an RM11.3bil agreement with Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) for the HSBB roll-out.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said “it could be possible later’’ and “I cannot say when’’ but “not at the moment.’’

This has dashed the hopes of several aspirants that wanted to put up an open access HSBB network to spur competition in the fixed broadband market place. With the absence of a second HSBB network some players fear consumers will eventually lose out.

TM will only divulge details of access of the roll-out in six months but Najib, in his speech at the signing ceremony yesterday, did say the Government would make sure there was open access to ensure enough competition in the market place.

A government official said the aspirants should make a submission to the regulator for an NFP (network facilities provider) licence so that the process could begin. TM may have got the big job without going through an open tender basis but, without an application, it was difficult to even assess the interest level.

Pahang-based High Speed Broadband Sdn Bhd said it would apply for NFP and NSP (network service provider) licences. The other aspirants include Dr Mohamed Awang Lah (also the CEO of Jaring) and Optical Communication Engineering Sdn Bhd.

TM had waited with bated breath to sign the agreement yesterday after two failed attempts one year after the project was announced. The initial plan was to invest RM15.3bil but this was scaled down to RM11.3bil of which the Government will fork out RM2.4bil in a public/private partnership (PPP) to roll out HSBB in high-density areas in Malaysia.

TM will have over 800 broadband-enabled exchanges and 500 new telecentres.

Najib said the Government would make progressive payments to TM for its portion. “As they implement we will start giving, but TM will spend most of it,’’ he said.

TM group chief executive officer Datuk Zamzamzairani Md Isa said the company had the funds to undertake the project but he did not give details.

TM HSBB programme director Ahmad Azhar Yahya said TM had called for tenders and would now work with vendors to fine-tune its requirement to meet its roll-out timeline of 2012 where 1.3 million premises would be linked offering speeds of 2Mbps to 1Gbps.

HSBB is only for the high-density areas. For other areas, broadband will be made available at speeds of up to 10Mbps.

To wire up the rural areas with broadband infrastructure, Energy, Water and Communications Minister Datuk Shaziman Abu Mansor said tax incentives would be considered besides the Universal service provision fund that could be used over three years for the implementation.

已经有一段时间留意股市了，甚至连自己的马儿现在怎样也不太了解，只知道每次看财经头条都是一些灾难性的新闻。。

当看到美国那边出了雷曼兄弟倒闭，美林被收购，老美政府出手救美国国际（极不公平的交易），才腾出些时间看看我的马儿。。

这匹编号9296 的马儿已经深深成为我的心头好了。从当初寂寂无闻，直到被我留意到，把残余败将都投注它身上，在论坛上轻描淡写，直到现在成为精华，并且成为版主和一些网友留意的其中一匹马儿。。

这支9296 对我来说真的有特别意义。。因为它是在我严重损伤，让我找回信心的一匹马。同时，它的脾气也给了我机会训练耐心，耐力和坚韧。它犹如风林火山活生生的版本。对于它，也真的无可挑剔了。对于我来说，它带给我的启发和快乐甚至多过赚钱的快乐。

我喜欢上它那种防御性，市场倒，别的马儿倒，它却雄姿勃勃，屹立不倒。我更爱上了它那种疯狂的攻击性，该来的时候，它就如一匹疯马，狂奔而去。这匹马攻守兼备，有时候它是孤傲的，但是有时候它仿佛一匹充满人生哲理的老马。

有时候空闲下来，查看这匹马的时候，都难免心里有些疑问，这匹马能走多远呢？会不会有倒下的一天？如果有一天真的有问题了，我应该怎样呢？都是一些这个阶段没有答案的问题。。

已经很久没有花那么多时间来详细留意每一件经济事件的发簪。。这个精华贴是我会留意的一个帖子，因为已经被过滤好才贴上来的吧。。谢谢了各位！辛苦啦！

今天看了The Edge关于TM要私营化VADS的新闻。怪不得这几天VADS不跌反起。我不知道私营化会不会真的发生，会在场外静静观察。心里希望私营化不会真的发生，不然股市又少了一间好公司了。

傳馬電訊私有化VADS
（吉隆坡21日訊）消息指出，馬電訊（TM，4863，主板貿易）有意私有化子公司VADS（7150，主板貿易）。

“The Edge”週刊引述消息指出，相信私有化計劃詳情和獻購價正洽談中，假設談妥所有未解決事項后，公司很可能在本週會宣佈私有化計劃。

據VADS最新財報，馬電訊是唯一的大股東，持有公司64.8%股權。

“目前，處理有關私有化的證券銀行名單仍未明朗化，惟多數電訊公司的證券銀行業務，皆由聯昌投資銀行（CIMB Investment Bank）負責。”

上週五，VADS以6.80令吉閉市價，創下自去年12月31日以來的最高水平，揚高25仙。

若以每股6.80令吉來計算，馬電訊需斥資約3億870萬令吉，以收購未持有的35.2%股權或4540萬股。

私有化虽然给我们散户快速的带来一些利益，但是对于一些象武大大这样的投资者应该会觉得可惜。
大部份的投资者都喜欢追踪股价，私有化赚一笔，爽！卖出，再把资金买进其他股票。追踪股价的股友会马上有下一个目票，但是对于少部份的长期投资者来说，可能是一件很烦恼的事，因为他们是千挑万选才决定投资的。
在我工作隔壁的老板也有投资于股票， 他常告诉我不希望买到的股会突然间狂涨，当然最好不要狂跌，只想拥有一间可以让他安心持有到最后的成长股。

馬電訊或出價每股RM8.10
VADS停牌料私有化

（吉隆坡22日訊）傳言甚久的馬電訊（TM，4863，主板貿易）私有化VADS（VADS，7150，主板貿易）消息，或將在本週內揭盅；VADS今日暫停交易。

券商認為，馬電訊或以15%至20%溢價收購VADS，意即每股8.10令吉；該股停牌前最后掛價報6.80令吉。

馬電訊今早向馬交所報備，要求VADS今日早上9時正開始暫停交易，直到另行通知，隨后VADS則向馬交所報備停牌交易。

稍早前“The Edge”週刊引述消息指出，相信私有化計劃詳情和獻購價仍在洽談中，假設一切談妥后，公司很可能在本週會宣佈私有化計劃。

聯昌證券研究分析報告指出，儘管獻購價碼尚未公佈，惟該行認為此舉可從VADS股價中獲得更多價值，是良好的發展。

VADS的業務基本面穩固、收益成長強勁、股本回酬率（ROE）穩定及抗跌性高，該行給于VADS 15%至20%的溢價至8.10令吉。

今年底可完成

聯昌證券指出，如果馬電訊出價每股8.10令吉或更高，這將完全釋放股票價值，對小股東而言是個很有吸引力的交易。

不過，隨著美特諾（METROD，6149，主板工業）及裕大（ICP，6829，主板工業）低價私有化后，馬電訊所出的獻購價不太可能達到8.10令吉。

根據計算VADS股東享有每股盈利（EPS）未來3年的年復成長率（CAGR）19.3%及股息，加上強勁業務表現。

“若獻購價大幅低于8.10令吉，股東將有所損失，此舉則不獲看好。”

假設獻購價為8.10令吉，馬電訊則需斥資3億7580萬令吉，以收購未持有的35.2%股權或4640萬股。

截至次季，馬電訊握有12億令吉現金，私有化一旦落實，料可在今年底完成。

該行稍上調VADS08至10財年收益預測值0.2%至1.4%，並維持“跑贏大市”投資評級。

馬電訊股價全日處于跌勢，以平盤至3.46令吉開跑后，休市時跌幅擴大至10仙，暫掛3.36令吉。

閉市時，馬電訊3.42令吉，跌4仙，全日成交量為443萬8700股

DOMINANT fixed-line services provider Telekom Malaysia has proposed to buy out the rest of its 63 per cent-owned VADS Bhdunit for RM417.3 million (US$122.2 million), VADS said today.

Under the terms of the proposal, VADS shareholders other than Telekom Malaysia would be paid RM7.60 a share in cash, an 11.8 per cent premium to the current market price of VADS.

Trading in VADS shares was suspended prior to the buyout announcement.

VADS shares last traded at RM6.80 while Telekom Malaysia shares fell 1.2 per cent to RM3.42 in a market that gained 0.3 per cent. - Reuters

匹馬大起大落回歸平淡，不熟匹馬性，實被震落馬。

TM 又跟我买回，我们是不是包赚的？

还是TM 多几天又可以说不要私有化了？
