为什么医生离开政府医院?

还是仅为钱吗?

Sheena made a comment on our post How to drive doctors from public service.
I believe she is referring to her post My doctor friends are going to work in Singapore.
Doctors finishing their training in UK may not come back to work in Malaysia, preferring instaed Singapore, where the pay, working conditions, and perhaps training opportunities are better.
Yes, the Health Ministry has made progress, eg. awarding pay-rises to returning specialists, taking over JPA’s role of recalling scholar-doctors back to Malaysia,
- A LONG-OVERDUE MOVE, considering the Public Service Department (JPA) is armed with all the details, and YET, still behave as though their hands are tied when it comes to recalling these errant scholars back to their duties.
You know where the families of these scholars LIVE, you know who their GUARANTORS are, you know where their guarantors LIVE, and you STILL can’t threaten them to either PAY UP or COME BACK??
- but, the main reasons doctors still don’t come home is because:
1) Doctors need their job security, including FAIR prospects of advancement.
2) Doctors need their opportunities for education.
3) Doctors need a life, ie. better pay, shorter working-hours.
She does have a point when she says:
Bleat all you want that doctors should be unselfish, patriotic, come home to serve the rakyat, and I do believe that most doctors love, and would love to live & work in Malaysia, but when you have sunk RM 338 000 (or more) into your education, and need the money (and the hours) to start a family…
DOCTORS DONT GET ANGRY, THEY JUST LEAVE.......(MALAYSIAN MEDICAL RESOURCES)
虽指向外国就业的医生, 不过和本地医院里的医生有异曲同工之意.

事情多到没人生之余,升职机会不多... |

还有另一种人:
我单单念个MBBS都要RM300k了,在多个专科又不知多少钱....
在政府医院呆,即使可以翻回本钱? |

有个朋友在UKM当讲师好好的, 最终也离职到这儿来, 加入私人医院.
他说其实在UKM过得很好, 只是升迁问题不如意. 他说:
"THEY TREAT ME LIKE THAT......, TAK BOLEH TAHAN ALREADY"
除非你有能耐,
如一个巫裔儿科传染科专家, 因为无法升上她认为她该上的级别, 闹着去私人医院. 私人医院欣喜万分, 等着等着, 奇怪她又不来了.
原来政府让了步.
其他的, 如果上面还有老的在, 你就"等久就是你的啦"(请用福建话发音) |

这儿另个城有个台湾毕业回来的医生,
他在台已经做到心脏科顾问了.
前几年开业时招牌却什么也没放, 干脆做个普通GP.
下了决心, 要回归基本也不太难, 心态而已.
从前的HSA JB儿科HOD, DR BALX, 在院时不懂杀了多少个MO趴到地上.
退休后开业, 因习惯了动口不动手, 连如何跟小孩采血都忘了, 也跟新的MANAGEMENT脱伍了. 真是风.....水....... |

以后的ADULT MRCP考到后或许不能自称专科(去第一楼的网址看)
MO们被鼓励加入MASTER PROGRAMME取代.
问题是, 非土族容易获取吗? |
