If one always take advantage from others, one will have the tendency to become indolent.
Just like last time, I went out for lunch/dinner/breakfast with some students (I suggest friends) they were in high spirits when they found out that the Indian waiter/waitress inadvertently charged them less than what they should pay. After that, I came to know that they were poor in their studies. I think it was the consequence of being lazy.
