   Today. I would like to share with all FOO Family about this Foo Clan Association (Singapore)

符氏社（祖祠）是新加坡历史最悠久的海南血缘团体，创立于1887年，由符愈贵、符运政、符福基和符昌文等先贤发起组织，并集资购置密驼路52号屋宇为社址。转眼间，符氏社已走过115周年，这是风雨同舟的115周年，是团结一心的115周年。
先贤创社的目的是为了联络乡谊、促进团结、改善福利，为宗亲解决争端，求同存异和发扬互助互利的精神。回溯先贤们高瞻远瞩，爱护桑梓，促进同乡福利，联络同乡感情，群策群力，不畏艰巨，创立了本社，他们留下了可贵的精神与物质财富。

1996年社长符建轼倡议编撰“符氏族谱续篇”，于第八届“世界符氏恳亲大会”上一致通过。
1999年，社长符敦垣提出符氏宗亲寻根问祖的计划。根据符氏族谱记载，符氏祖居地为山东省临沂市。社长符敦垣在本社行政员符安儿的安排下，已经在2000年4月、9月，2001年5月及2002年4月4次率团赴山东省临沂市寻根问祖，在当地官员、考古专家、历史学者和宗亲的协助下，调查的结果令人兴奋和鼓舞。我们将汇集所有详尽资料，编辑出版成书。同时，山东省侨联及菏泽市侨联也应我社的要求，协助寻访符氏族人。
我社也策定二个计划，一是让“符氏本源”上网；二是把“符氏本源”编成音乐剧上演。
三千光阴谁与渡，笑看今朝子孙繁。现在符氏社年青一代承袭传统，融合先进管理理念，与时并进，敦睦宗亲，共谋福祉，定能让符氏社继续在新加坡荣耀！

There are a lot of good informations about FOO family inside the website. For example, you can find the completed lists of 海 南 符 氏 派 序 表.

Chinese names typically consists of three one-syllable words: The Surname, the generation name, and the individual's personal name. One of the motivations behind compiling the 符氏族谱/家谱 during the 1930s was to clear up the confusion concerning generation names. At that time, there were total Six main branches of the FOO Family in hainan and each had adopted its own generation poem. Finally all the branches agreed on the necessity of having one lian(2) pu(3) and adopted a new 40-words poem with which to name their offspring. Below are consists the 6 old bracnhes:





The new generation poem of the FOO Family lian pu, literally means to combine or unit the genealogy, that was adopted in the 1930s, Its reads as the following:

This new generation names have 40 words, which will last for 40 generations, and future FOO will gather again when the last charater is used to plan for another poems of generation names. My generation name was falls on the 9th charater --> Chuan


Yi Yang (King) had outstanding achievement.


History books have forever recorded his glorious deeds.


His examples have passed on far and beyond.


This past glory is celebrated for lasting this long.


To hold in our heart the pious and friendly (King hearted) virtues.


To promote education and nurture the bright and good.


To genially continue and adopt our ancestoral aspiration.


To spread these philosophy (writings) and be the honour of the country.

I believe there are a lot of 符氏海南亲戚 outthere in Malaysia. Please come in to share some comments on whether your family still following the generation name?

My first born baby girl due date was around end of this month, and I will continue using the generation name of -->Fang

印象中，姓“符”的华人，几乎 全部 是 海南 人。

请问：有没有非海南 籍贯 的 符姓人呢？ 没有别的用意，只是 好奇罢了。

没有。。只要是姓符的就一定是海南人
好像还有一个姓氏也是

在新马/东南亚。。
可以说 符 都是海南人。。

但是在中国并不是，符 姓氏来自中原，在中国属于小姓，但是有一个 符 到了海南岛开支散叶，使到 符 在海南岛成为大姓。。

以前到南洋的都是南方的汉人，没有几个北方的。。所以新马的 符 100% 海南人，中国---not the case
