Najib: More SMEs to benefit from soft loansNews & Events - By author on Thursday, June 3, 2010 - 00:15
THE move to convert grants for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) into soft loans is to make entrepreneurs more accountable and reduce their dependence on government funds, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
He said soft loans, of which the interest charge is lower than the market's, would allow more SMEs to benefit from the financing scheme. Grants are limited and thus, would not be accessible to many entrepreneurs.
"In fact, if the SMEs were successful (in their venture), especially those who innovate, their returns would be manifold and they can afford to repay the loans," he told a new conference after opening the SME Innovation Showcase - Smidex 2010 in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
Also present were International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed as well as SME Corp chairman Datuk Dr Mohamed Al-Amin and chief executive officer Datuk Habsah Hashim.
Najib cited an innovative SME, which had obtained loans from Mara, was able to complete the repayment before the financing tenure ends. "This is a very good attitude, which we should nurture. If we give grants, they (entrepreneurs) would see them as an easy source of funding."
The prime minister said the allocation for soft loans to the SMEs will be announced in the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP).
The 10MP, which will cover a five-year period between 2011 and 2015, will be tabled in the Parliament next Thursday.
"We will continue to promote the growth of the SMEs through soft loans, venture capital, assistance, training and promotion in the international market," he said when asked about strategies for the SMEs in the 10MP.
Earlier at the launch, Najib said the SME development agenda under the 10MP will focus on developing SMEs that are innovative, competitive and resilient.
He said the New Economic Model (NEM), whose elements will be included in the 10MP, offers initiatives to support the transformation of companies, including SMEs.
"Under the NEM, the SMEs' role as an internal source of economic growth will be further strengthened. Incentives will be offered to speed the transformation of SMEs that have potential for innovation," he said in his speech which was read by Mustapa.
The prime minister said an innovation-led economy demands a new breed of SMEs - those that foster market- and technology-driven innovation and create high-skilled jobs in all sectors.
The government is encouraging the growth of innovation-led SMEs, or 1-InnoCERT SMEs.
Najib described InnoCERT SMEs as companies that are market- and customer-focused, employ many professionals and utilise technology and innovation for process and product development.
Najib also said that the latest survey findings by SME Corp show that local SMEs are "firmly recovering" from the global financial crisis.
The companies surveyed cited 13 per cent growth in sales in the first quarter and anticipated 20 per cent sales growth in the second quarter. Respondents expect a full recovery in the second half of the year.
Najib said since 2004, the real gross domestic product (GDP) of the SMEs has outgrown the country's economic growth. The SMEs grew an average of 7.7 per cent per year, surpassing the country's average GDP growth of 5.7 per cent. |

本来就应该这样的。保护政策绝对是腐败的第一步。
但是，我国的SME有多少真的有实力面对挑战？
我建议比较小型的SME可以combine起来。十间小型联合起来可以媲美一间中型的工厂了。 |

本来就应该这样的。保护政策绝对是腐败的第一步。
但是，我国的SME有多少真的有实力面对挑战？

combine 起來死著定.. 大馬 SME 競爭力是很強.. 提前..不要被政府 / 員工拖後腿即可..
商人投資目的只不過是賺錢而已.. 如果搞投資搞到好像在負擔.. 哪我看沒有人會想要投資吧.. |

還有一樣喔.. 取消這個津貼.. 最吃虧的就是打工一族, 尤其是高薪的..
對商家基本上是不會造成很大的影響.. 不好賺至多收起來不做生意而已..
為何這樣說 ?? 現在目前的情況是.. 就算員工生產力低, 銷售低, 還有一些津貼來抵銷虧損..
這些津貼一旦取消.. 廠方一定會加強員工素質.. 到時候.. 一些能力比較差的族群.. 嘿嘿.. 根本就無法生存 !! |

哈哈。你还好意思说竞争力强。如果强，就不需要放条件说如果。
人力资源是目前最大的挑战。很难找到有责任感的员工，或人才流动很大。比较以前的时代，很多人都是一间工厂做到老的。
政府方面已经宽松很多了。还有就是公司内部管理吧？很多SME的管理都比较随便（个人意见，有错请多多指教。） |

津什么鬼贴啊？ Grant是要申请的！ 你以为马来西亚有多少家SME, 尤其是非土著拥有的SME得到Government Grant？

本来就应该lifted这些grant。
grant给了也不见得生产的东西耐用、好、或有竞争力。
作不到的话，最起码也要便宜。但，都没有。
都看不到grant的好处pun.
反正商家看赚钱，有钱赚，何必要拼竞争力？
大马企业有竞争力.....这个....
希望SME洗牌不要太凶就好鸟。
事到如今，我也该开始翻翻外国人头网站鸟.... |
