One of the problems that are feared by most women is cellulite. Cellulite has a dimply, orange peel appearance on your skin that is made up of fat cells that are deposited beneath the skin and it is mostly found in the thighs, legs, stomach, or buttocks.
Some of the reasons you get cellulite includes poor diet, age, lifestyle, hormones, and genetic predisposition. Although people who are overweight tend to have a higher chance of getting cellulite, it affects many thin women as well. Additionally, the amounts of toxicity accumulated in your body from the food intake to pollutants from the environment are factors that cause cellulite formation. So the key to reducing cellulites is to remove the toxins from your body and to prevent further build-up of toxins. Even though you can’t completely get rid of cellulites, I’d like to share with you a few remedies to reduce it.
1) Have an unprocessed diet and drink lots of water
Avoid eating packaged foods, processed starches, refined salt and sugar,
and preservatives. Make sure to consume more fresh fruits and
vegetables as it will help clear the acidic toxic build-up in your body.
If you are up for it, you can also try vegetable juicing. Also, if you
want to have smooth, supple skin, you need to stay hydrated. You need to
drink lots of water to flush out the toxins from your body and if you
don’t like drinking plain water, add some lemon slices to your water.
2) Dry skin brushing
Dry skin brushing is a method which stimulates the lymphatic system and
opens up the pores on your skin. Ideally, you should do this daily for
at least 5 minutes before shower. So before you start, make sure that
the brush and your skin is dry. You can start from your feet and work
your way up to your legs, thighs, and then arms and towards your chest.
You can brush in circular motion or by making long sweeps but avoid
brushing back and forth. Make sure to brush towards the heart to
encourage blood circulation and don’t brush too hard to avoid irritation
of the skin. It is best to get a body brush made of natural fibers
instead of synthetic ones.
3) Coffee scrubs
Coffee scrubs can be helpful in reducing cellulite. You can use coffee
scrubs to massage and exfoliate the skin as it stimulates the blood flow
and the caffeine in the coffee creates a tightening effect.
Try this homemade coffee scrub recipe. You will need 1/4 cup coffee grounds, 3 tablespoons of brown sugar, and 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil. Mix the ingredients to create the coffee scrubs and store it in a glass jar. You can use it 2 to 3 times a week by massaging onto the skin in circular motion for several minutes using firm pressure before rinsing.
4) Cayenne pepper
Consuming cayenne pepper can help heat up the body, boost metabolism,
and increase blood circulation. Regular consumption of cayenne pepper
can help reduce the appearance of cellulite and flush out toxins from
the body. You can try this cellulite detox drink by mixing 1 – 2
teaspoons of cayenne pepper powder, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and
one teaspoon of grated ginger with a glass of warm water. If you can,
drink this once or twice a day.
Don’t be discouraged if you have tried these remedies but you noticed that you still have cellulite because nothing is going to make it completely disappear. As long as you are exercising, eating right, and getting enough rest, you’ll notice the difference. What you can do is to embrace it and don’t spend too much time obsessing over it.
