(BDSB) TO UNDERTAKE EXTERNAL WORKS AND SERVICES AND BALANCE OF WORKS FOR 6-STOREY CARPARK AND COMMUNITY FACILITIES BLOCK | Reference is made to the Company’s announcement dated 11 May 2021 in relation to the Letter of Award between BDSB and Integral Acres Sdn. Bhd. (“IASB”) (“Announcement”). Unless otherwise stated, the words and abbreviations used herein shall have the same meaning as those defined in the Announcement.
The Board of Directors of Bertam wishes to announce that IASB had on 1 October 2021 informing BDSB that it had received a Notice of Termination from its Client, PR1MA Corporation Malaysia (“PR1MA”) on 27 August 2021, though, IASB had only obtained approval from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry to commence construction works on PR1MA@ Sandakan City Centre (“Project”) on the 2nd week of September 2021.
IASB has been advised by its solicitors that the contract has been ended prematurely by PR1MA. Hence, IASB is preparing for a dispute to be referred to arbitration. Meanwhile, IASB has started the demobilisation process by removing all its machineries, equipment, and temporary structures from site in accordance with the original Master En-Bloc Purchase Agreement between PR1MA and IASB.
As a result, IASB shall not be requiring the services from BDSB to complete the external works & services and balance of works for 6-storey carpark and community Facilities Block of the Project.
