Over the years, chemical fertilizer, herbicides and pesticides has been extensively applied in the agriculture industry due to its fast responding and ease of application. However, the application
of these chemical, in effect, ‘Kill’ the soil while the organic fertilizers able to improve and sustain the soil. The following gives details of the effects of chemical fertilizer have on our soil.

Soil Friability:

Chemical fertilizers destroy the friability of soil.

Chemical fertilizer contains acids which may eventually acidify the soil, causing a hard and compact soil which is poor in aeration. This prevent the rain water from entering the soil.
化肥含有酸性会令到土壤硬化致密,无法通风. 导致雨水无法流入土壤.
Soil Beneficial Microorganism:
土壤有益微生物
Pure chemicals can be hard to the earthworm and microorganisms in the soil that keep it alive and working, thus, enhancing the nutrient uptake efficiency.
纯化学将会导致蚯蚓, 微生物无法生存而影响土壤无法提高养分的吸收效率.
On top of that, many diseases are prevented by these beneficial antibiotic-producing bacteria and fungi that colonize around the plant root in a healthy soil.
因此可见, 许多疾病被这些开拓在健康的土壤,有益的产抗菌素的细菌和真菌给防止.
Therefore, organic fertilizer must be employed together with chemical fertilizer to offset these effects by supplying sufficient organic matter.

In an acidic soil condition, the nutrient uptake efficiency by plant is reduced drastically. As result, the chemical fertilizers are all being flushed into the watercourse, causing pollution.
